LITTLE BADDOW CARERS’ CLUB LAUNCH

On July 25th at 2.00pm Little Baddow Parish Council will be opening its doors to its newest initiative, The Little Baddow Carers’ Club.

The idea was proposed by Councillor Steph Scott, as she herself has been a full-time carer and, with this knowledge, Little Baddow Parish Council were unanimous in agreeing to the project. With support and guidance from our Essex County Councillor, John Spence, the Parish applied for a grant specifically for carers to have a club of their own where they could talk over a coffee, listen to presenter-guests discussing Funding entitlements in one session and Enrichment in another.

Unpaid carers play a substantial and vital role, the care they provide gives enormous value to the people they care for and for the wider society Many unpaid carers gain great satisfaction from their role and, through the help and support they provide to friends and family. But, everyone deserves some ‘ME Time.’

With the assistance of The Alzheimer’s Society and other organisations we are creating a programme that we anticipate will be of interest but, we need to know exactly what the Club Members think would suit them. The first Club meeting will be just that, getting to know each other, Members telling us what would be most beneficial to THEM !

Please do join Barbara, Celia, Charlotte, Gemma, Jenny, Steph, Suzanne and Verity for refreshments (including cake) and conversation at Little Baddow Memorial Hall, Berridge Room between 2-4pm and help build a Club that You want.

If you are unable to attend this first meeting, please let us know and we will advise you of dates of future meetings.
